Basic reporting

Terms such as BSI, asset, ITIL, incident and problem management will change your IT operations in the future. The challenge lies in covering these aspects with a few interlinked tools and integrating them into daily business. Smart solutions are therefore in demand!
Integrating CANCOM Monitorin Solution with our helpdesk system CANCOM ControlSeries and CANCOM ComplianceSuite provides this interconnection and enables the following functions, among others:
Note/warning for new network device
Automated creation of a ticket/ workflow ticket with subsequent documentation
Integration of commercial data, such as leasing contracts and expiry dates
Tickets for incident and problem management are linked to the asset
Expanding and linking of IT asset to BSI relevant asset:
Geographical and infrastructural BSI aspects
Management of maintenance contracts in accordance with BSI
With the professional enterprise modules of CANCOM MonitoringSolution, business processes can be monitored and resources planned intelligently.
Business Activity Monitoring
IT systems can fail. In most cases, only individual components or services within a system fail. If you view the failure solely through an IT lens, it is simply a service or system that has malfunctioned.
In reality, however, this often impairs, disrupts or even interrupts a business process.
Can goods receipts still be posted if the WLAN for the barcode scanners fails?
Does production still work if the application server database is full?
In order to monitor a business process, it is necessary to consider all of the components involved. The Business Activity Monitoring module of CANCOM Monitoring Solution allows you to define, weigh up and visualise all the services of an IT-supported business process. This gives both the IT administrator and the process manager an overview of the status of the business processes.
Intelligent resource planning
CANCOM MonitoringSolution continuously generates data sets during operation. Hundreds or even thousands of them. These data sets are the result of system checks. The CPU utilisation of a server, the fill level of a SAN system, the latency of a WAN connection.
Evaluating these figures is the first step in intelligent resource planning. The Monitoring Business Intelligence module of MonitoringSolution generates automated reports that allow you to answer important questions.
How available were my services, servers, locations and business processes?
Were the agreed SLAs met?
How long will the capacity of our storage system last?
Can users in branch offices also work efficiently?
Where do problems occur most frequently?
IT can only work proactively rather than reactively by evaluating the available key figures.

Add-ons
The CANCOM MonitoringSolution can be expanded using a variety of additional hardware and software components. From monitoring environmental factors to issuing alerts via virtually any medium, the possibilities for monitoring and evaluating your IT systems are almost endless!
Monitoring environmental factors is an essential component of any monitoring system these days. Special measuring sensors can be used to query various conditions via existing network cabling. The following can be monitored, for example:
- Temperature
- Humidity
- Smoke
- Movement
- Water
- Contact
The sensors and measured values can be seamlessly integrated into the system, triggering an alarm in critical situations.
The monitoring system typically sends an alert via email when problems arise. However, with the volume of emails that people receive these days, important alerts can easily be overlooked.
Our kiosk systems provide a simple way to display an overview of the current system status. This means you can see at a glance what is going on.
The kiosk system consists of a conventional LCD display and a RaspberryPi. The RaspberryPi is a credit card-sized computer that can be powered via the LCD’s USB port. It connects to the monitoring system via a network interface and can therefore display any cockpit on the LCD.

No distortion due to WAN connection latencies
Alarms are guaranteed even if the connection to the central authority fails; optional with independent access to local resources

Monitoring of isolated DMZ networks
