Identity Governance
Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Identity Governance (IGA) are integrated on a modular basis. Together, they cover the entire lifecycle of digital identities โ including initial creation, assignment of rights and roles, and deactivation. Users are granted access only to the applications for which they are clearly authorized based on their digital identity. All activities are seamlessly and audit-proof documented โ a key prerequisite for meeting compliance requirements.
Single Sign-On
Single Sign-On & Passwordless Authentication
With just a single login, users can access all applications within the digital workplace environment for which they are authorized. There is no need to enter a traditional password. A Single Sign-Off function terminates all active sessions at once. These capabilities significantly minimize phishing risks and reduce the burden on IT support.

Independent management via Self-Service Portal
With over 100 configurable self-service options, users can independently manage their own devices, accounts, passwords, and storage quotas โ without having to contact IT support. Thanks to its support for modern standards such as OIDC, SAML, LDAP, and REST APIs, The CANCOM SMART Workplace can seamlessly integrate a wide range of specialized and third-party applications. All changes to user accounts and access permissions are automatically synchronized โ eliminating the need for manual administration. In the area of communication and collaboration, users can also leverage the European open-source platform “Grommunio”, either alongside Microsoft Exchange or as a standalone alternative.
Usability
User-friendly UI with Application Launcher
The CANCOM SMART Workplace user interface is designed to be clean and intuitive. The integrated Application Launcher only displays the applications that a user is authorized to access. Sections such as “Favorites,” “Quick Launch,” and “Recently Used Apps” provide fast access to the tools users need. In addition, a customizable sidebar provides quick access to frequently used tools, applications, and functions. The sidebar can be configured to match individual workflows and preferences.
Grommunio as a key component
As a Platinum Partner of Grommunio, we have seamlessly integrated this European open-source solution into our CANCOM SMART Workplace environment. The platform offers scalable and secure communication and collaboration features including email, calendar, contacts, chat, video conferencing, and file sharing. Thanks to its Linux-based architecture and automated migration scripts, transitioning from Microsoft Exchange is significantly simplified.
